Lanaco, a member of the Association of Informatics in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has launched a pilot project in cooperation with Intel Corporation. This project "e-Learning 1:1" is part of Intel's global initiative in supporting education through technology and encourages teachers and students to use technology in the classroom.
Thirty Netbooks known as "Classmate PC's" (CMPC's) have been donated by Intel to a primary school in Banja Luka, and are used to teach several subjects, not only informatics. Lanaco has also organised workshops for 120 non-IT teachers, to demonstrate effective computer usage in learning using CMPC's.
Preliminary results indicate that student attendance and motivation increased within only two months of using the CMPC's in the classroom.
