The annual European Conference of the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) took place recently at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. The now fully operational Information Technology Capability Maturity Framework (IT-CMF) version 1.0 was one of the main topics for discussion. The results so far for companies in assessing their IT management maturity, and how CIO's will be empowered through newly established IVI diplomas and masters qualifications were also presented.
At the conference it was announced that Chevron will adopt the IT-CMF framework across all of its global operations, and that the world's leading oil and gas companies are using IT-CMF assessment in a bench-marking study that covers their entire enterprise IT. IVI confirmed their belief that business competitors should share information when solving common IT challenges, by presenting the collaboration of leading energy companies who are now all using the IT-CMF.
