BCS’s new President prioritises inclusion in IT profession

The newly elected President of the British Computer Society (BCS), John Higgins CBE, has announced that his first priority will be “to make our profession more welcoming for all – regardless of gender, age or ethnic background”. The other two main focus areas are to increase digital competences and access to digital services for the British public, and to work towards a green digital economy. Together with his new Deputy President, Mayank Prakash, Mr Higgins aspires to help BCS achieve its goal of making IT good for society.
