At the Council meeting on 24 November 2022, CEPIS Council voted to accept the application of the Informatics Society of Kosovo (SHPIK) to join CEPIS as an affiliate member.
Shoqata Profesionale e Informaticientëve të Kosovës (the Professional Association of Kosovo Informatics Professionals) represents over 650 IT professionals in the Republic of Kosovo, and is building strong ties with professionals and organisations abroad. SHPIK started its work in the beginning of 2022. Its mission is to empower the IT community in Kosovo. SHPIK also develops teaching and learning materials for ICT profiles of VET schools, mentors ICT teachers and develops training materials for coding at lower secondary schools.
Jakub Christoph, CEPIS Secretary General, said: “We are delighted to welcome SHPIK to the CEPIS community. We are confident that this is a great opportunity to exchange expertise and best practices, and are looking forward to years of fruitful collaboration.”
