Commission publishes study on AI uptake in European enterprises

The European Commission has published the first quantitative overview on the uptake of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies among European enterprises.

The report shows that four in ten (42%) enterprises have adopted at least one AI technology, with a quarter of them having already adopted at least two. The study also found that the key internal barrier that enterprises are facing when adopting AI technologies is the difficulty in hiring new staff with the right skills (named as main barrier by 57% of respondents). Over half (52%) of the respondents also cited the cost of adopting AI technology as a major issue.
