Economic downturn creates job insecurity for young generation in tech

The economic downturn following the pandemic means that the young generation in tech (‘YGIT’) is facing concerns relating to job security, a new report from the consultancy firm ‘Eight Roads’ finds. Originally viewed as an industry benefit, flexible and remote working norms have become a significant source of tension for young people. Tech companies need to pay attention to engaging and investing in their talent in a market environment that today is more unpredictable and challenging.  

The authors state that the results in their report should serve as an important signal to the tech industry, which must be people-centric in order to succeed.
