
American news outlet Nextgov writes that closing the cybersecurity skills gap will require developing new technologies, in addition to growing the number of cybersecurity professionals. The rising complexity of cybersecurity issues means that it will not be enough to hire more people with the right skills, but that they must also to develop smarter technology that professionals can use. Marcus Fowler, Director of Strategic Threat at the autonomous cyber defence platform Darktrace, writes:
“(…) the cybersecurity resources gap is no longer a problem we can solve with humans alone. Rather than work harder, and throw more humans at the problem, we need to empower them to work smarter.“
