The final report from the ‘Skills for Industry 2030’ conference has been released. It provides an overview of funding incentives for up- and re-skilling, as well as an outline of best practices in reducing the skills gap in high-tech skills. It also provides concrete recommendations for further action to ensure the adequate supply-demand for advanced IT skills in the job market.
The report recommendations include to fund a larger number of small-scale initiatives, apply more funding interventions at the various stages of an initiative to better secure its longevity. It is also mentioned that raising awareness of, and motivation for, life-long-learning among the European workforce is crucial — particularly in industry and businesses whose willingness to support such initiatives should increase.
