These awards recognise the IT professional and their contribution to the IT profession as a whole. Contributions to the IT profession do not need to be centred on a particular technology, product or IT solution. We welcome achievements and professional contributions in areas such as leadership, mentoring, education, research, standards, ethics, community building, advocacy, professional practice, innovation and societal impact.

Categories

Recognises an outstanding individual whose career and achievements represent exceptional professional excellence and who has made a significant contribution to the advancement and the professionalisation of the IT profession in Europe. The award recognises outstanding professional contribution, leadership, expertise, innovation, professional influence, ethical and responsible practice, societal impact, or a combination of these factors.

Recognises an outstanding woman who is making a significant impact in the IT profession through her achievements, leadership, and commitment to inspiring others. The recipient serves as a role model for current and future generations, championing excellence, innovation, and diversity while helping to strengthen the visibility and influence of women across Europe’s digital sector.

Recognises an early-career professional who has already demonstrated exceptional professional excellence, achievement, potential and commitment to the IT profession. The award seeks to identify emerging professionals whose contributions, professional conduct and future potential are expected to positively influence the development of the IT profession. Eligible candidates should be under the age of 35 on 1 January of the Awards year.

Recognises an outstanding academic and/or research professional whose work and professional achievements have significantly advanced the understanding, development and professionalisation of IT. The award recognises impactful contributions related to ethical, secure, diverse,  inclusive, accessible and sustainable IT and Informatics, as well as academic and research contributions that strengthen the role of IT in society and promote the responsible and beneficial use of technology.

Deadline for submissions: 2 October, 23:59 CEST

The Prizes

  • A certificate of recognition
  • Free admission to the Skill[set] conference and awards ceremony (including the opportunity to deliver a presentation and optionally submit a paper)
  • Gala dinner at the night of the conference
