Call to Participate: Annual Privacy Forum 2025

The 13th Annual Privacy Forum (APF) 2025, of which CEPIS is a long-standing partner, will take place on 22–23 October 2025 at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The event, themed “Privacy Technologies and Policy,” will bring together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners to discuss the evolving challenges and innovations in data protection and privacy across Europe.

Organised by RSAC™, Plattform Privatheit, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Karlstad University, with support from ENISA, EDPS, ECCC, BMFTR, and CEPIS, the APF 2025 continues its mission to bridge the gap between technological developments and privacy regulation.

The forum will feature keynote speeches from prominent figures in the field, including Wojciech Wiewiórowski (European Data Protection Supervisor), Meike Kamp (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Thomas Bindl (EuGD) and Christian Däuble (Spirit Legal), Jens Bender (German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), and Frank Pallas (Paris Lodron University of Salzburg).

The programme also includes panel discussions on Digital Sovereignty, Communities in Privacy and Data Protection, and The Experience from EUDPR and the Challenges Ahead, alongside a series of paper presentations covering emerging risks, user support and design approaches, and professional tools for privacy analysis and decision-making.

Ahead of the conference, on 21 October, the EDPS Internet Privacy Engineering Network (IPEN) will hold a dedicated event on “Secure Multi-Party Computation” at the same venue, offering an additional opportunity for technical and policy-focused collaboration.

The APF 2025 aims to explore how privacy technologies and governance can evolve in tandem to protect personal data in an increasingly interconnected world.

CEPIS encourages ICT professionals, privacy experts, and policymakers to participate in this important event and contribute to shaping Europe’s privacy future.
