The German Informatics Society as part of the Ecosystem Formally Verifiable IT (EvIT) has launched a new webinar series called “Trustworthy Tuesday”. Once a month, researchers present their work in the field of formal verification. After lunch at 2 pm CEST, you can join our “snackable science” format.
In the next session on August 18th, Dr. Matthew Wilding will give his presentation “Can Formal Methods Help Me?”. Formal methods are approaches that use mathematical reasoning to provide guarantees about computer-based systems. It is often not clear when and how to apply formal methods because there are many tools and mathematical approaches, a wide variety of domains with distinct assurance needs, and different sources of worrisome computer systems complexity.
Matthew Wilding is a program manager at DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) for software engineering and critical system assurance.
The event is happening on 18 August, starting at 2pm CEST. The event will be held on Zoom. The recording will be uploaded to the EvIT website after the event.
