The European Commission has amended the Digital Europe Work Programme 2025–2027 to keep pace with the EU’s rapidly evolving digital priorities and ensure continued deployment of cutting‑edge digital solutions across Member States.
The update introduces several new initiatives, including digital infrastructure support for schools and an online safety application designed to reinforce the EU’s Action Plan against cyberbullying. A new call for Safer Internet Centres aims to expand geographical coverage across the EU and associated countries, while a dedicated work strand will strengthen cooperation among European Digital Infrastructure Consortia (EDICs).
Additional adjustments focus on advancing AI Testing and Experimentation Facilities, the rollout of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format, and broader deployment of digital health services. The amendment also refines the area on Situational Awareness and Operational Centre (SAOC) to align it with the objectives of the European Democracy Shield.
This update follows the programme’s first amendment adopted in October 2025, which strengthened EU ambitions to develop and deploy critical technologies across Europe.
