Have Your Say: Review of 2030 Digital Decade Targets

The European Commission has launched a call for evidence to gather views on whether the EU’s 2030 Digital Decade objectives and targets remain fit for purpose in today’s fast-changing technological landscape. Adopted in 2022, the current framework guides Europe’s digital transformation across key areas including connectivity, skills, digitalisation of businesses, and public services.

This public consultation will feed into a comprehensive review planned for 2026, marking the halfway point toward the 2030 goals. The Commission aims to assess whether the existing targets remain relevant and resilient, and whether they can better support Europe’s ambition to accelerate digital innovation while simplifying digital legislation.

The upcoming review will explore how to further align policy design with funding opportunities under the next Multiannual Financial Framework. It will also evaluate ways to reinforce structured engagement with regions, cities, and local actors—a crucial step for ensuring digitalisation benefits citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises across all territories.

The call for evidence is open until 23 December 2025, and the Commission is inviting contributions from public authorities, industry, civil society, academia, and individual citizens.

The Commission encourages all stakeholders to share their insights and help shape the next phase of Europe’s digital future.
