CEPIS Council and Expert Groups Convene in Warsaw for Productive Three-Day Programme

CEPIS, supported by the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI-PIPS), its Member Society from Poland, brought together over 50 representatives, experts, and board members in Warsaw from 27 to 29 May 2026 for a productive programme of the annual in-person edition of the CEPIS Council and expert group meetings. It was hosted at the Hilton Warsaw City hotel.

The three-day gathering combined governance discussions with in-depth expert exchanges, beginning on 27 May with the meeting of the Women in ICT group and an evening welcome reception that provided a valuable opportunity for participants to reconnect and build new professional links.

The CEPIS Council meeting took place on 28 May, bringing together official representatives and invitees to discuss strategic priorities. The meeting included an address of the Vice President of PTI-PIPS Marian Bubak as well as a recorded greeting from the Deputy Prime Minister and Digitalisation ‌Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski. The Council meeting was followed by a full day of parallel expert sessions covering areas such as the Information Society, Digital Skills Policy, Informatics Education, and Research, Development and Innovation. The programme also included a well-attended session on IT Professionalism at CEPIS, encouraging broader engagement and cross-group collaboration.

The programme concluded on 29 May with a meeting of the Legal and Security Issues expert group, addressing key challenges related to regulation, cybersecurity, and trust in the digital environment.

Throughout the event, participants benefited from a strong mix of formal discussions and informal networking opportunities, with coffee breaks, shared meals, and the reception fostering collaboration across CEPIS member societies. The Warsaw meetings once again highlighted the value of in-person engagement in advancing CEPIS’s work on digital skills, professionalism, and policy across Europe.
