CEPIS invites ICT professionals, researchers, educators, managers and practitioners across Europe to participate in a new survey exploring perceptions of digital sustainability and the relative importance of its environmental, economic and social dimensions. The study aims to better understand how digital sustainability is interpreted and prioritised within the IT profession and education sector.
Participants will be asked to share their views on topics such as sustainable technology practices, environmental impacts of ICT, economic viability, digital inclusion, accessibility and workforce well-being. Responses will be analysed anonymously and in aggregate form.
Survey respondents can opt into a draw for Amazon vouchers by providing their email address at the end of the questionnaire. Email addresses will be used solely to communicate the results of the draw.
CEPIS encourages all IT professionals to contribute their perspectives and help shape a deeper understanding of digital sustainability across the sector.
Digital sustainability is also one of the target topics for papers at this year’s Skill[set] conference on digital skills and IT professionalism, which will take place on 3-4 December 2026 in Berlin, Germany. The call for papers and presentations is now open, with the deadline of 6 September 2026. Targeted contributions on digital sustainability may also contribute towards the special issue on Digital Sustainability of Sustainability, an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal on environmental, cultural, economic, and social sustainability of human beings, published online by MDPI.
