The European Commission has announced €105 million in funding for cybersecurity projects. The funding, part of the Commission’s Digital Europe Work Programme for 2023 and 2024, will be focused on projects that strengthen cooperation between Member States on cybersecurity issues and boost the security of businesses.
The Commission launched the call for proposals in cooperation with the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC). €35 million is earmarked for creating the Cybersecurity Emergency Mechanism, which will help Member States prepare for cybersecurity incidents and cooperate in responding to them, while €30 million is dedicated to implementing legislation to strengthen the cybersecurity of businesses in the EU.
