In their article “The COVID-19 recovery will be digital: A plan for the first 90 days”, McKinsey Digital outline the main challenges that businesses will have to face, and propose steps to help companies recover after the COVID crisis. The article emphasises that agile transition to digital is a must, especially now that it is possible that lockdowns will be (re)instated in waves, and people are realising that many things previously done face-to-face are just as viable, or even more convenient, digitally.
McKinsey’s proposed digital agenda of recovery is a concrete 90-day step-by-step plan that focusses on four areas: 1) refocusing and accelerating digital investments according to customer needs, 2) using new data and AI to improve business operations, 3) selectively modernising technology capabilities to increase development speed, and 4) increasing organisational agility to deliver more quickly.
