The CEPIS Council approved the creation of a new Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) expert group at the 71st CEPIS Council meeting, which took place on 23 November in Brussels. The creation of the group follows a year of transversal actions related to RDI. The group will be chaired by Aida Omerovic from the Norwegian Computer Society. The group’s plans for 2024 include:
- Promoting the CEPIS ecosystem as partner in EU projects
- Promotion of project proposals
- Starting with feasible projects: innovation/education and skilling
- Requesting specialized companies paid support services
- Cataloguing capacities of societies and initiating in projects.
These activities will be carried out, keeping in mind that CEPIS is not an organisation for RDI; it can only participate as associated partner or subcontractor.
However, this may not be the case for the CEPIS Member Societies – some of you are (or may be) equipped to participate as partners or even lead consortia. Therefore, to better understand and serve our Members, the RDI group has created a survey. The survey aims to gather information about the Member Societies’ interests and capacities when it comes to participation in funded projects.
Please kindly fill in the survey by 15 December 2023. And, of course, you are more than welcome to join the RDI expert group, if you have not done so already. Just contact the CEPIS Secretariat at email@example.com, and we will add you to the group’s Basecamp project.
If there is another colleague who is directly responsible for project work in your Society, do not hesitate to introduce them to us!
