Dansk IT Advocates for Digital Skills and Ethical AI

Since 2020 Dansk IT, the Danish IT Society, has been ‘home’ to the National Coalition of the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (DSJP). Earlier this spring, Dansk IT finished the project phase, but the work to promote digital skills continues. One of the Dansk IT committees has taken on it to ensure that digital skills are dealt with and taken seriously among their members and the broader public.

In June Dansk IT took part in more than 23 debates and other activities on the Folkemødet, the national three-day ‘Democracy Festival’ on the island of Bornholm. One of their key messages was emphasising the importance of management taking responsibility for IT and digitalization. This message is one that they also generally emphasise in their communication and publications.

Another hot topic Dansk IT has taken on board is the usage of (generative) Artificial Intelligence (AI) within organisations and elsewhere. The Dansk IT member community is in the process of formulating a catalogue of recommendations and guidelines for when to use (gen) AI, and as well as when not to. The recommendations will be shared with the broader public upon completion.
