EU Announces €210 Million Funding for Cybersecurity and Digital Capabilities

The EU is making €210 million available to support stronger cybersecurity and better digital capabilities across Europe. €102 million of the funding will be dedicated to cybersecurity initiatives such as protecting critical infrastructure and supporting National Cybersecurity Strategies, while the remaining €108 million will go to support the EU’s Digital Decade targets. These include initiatives on topics such as advanced digital skills and tackling misinformation online.

The funding is made available under the Digital Europe Programme, which provides funds to help the research and adoption of digital technologies across European business and society. This aligns with the EU’s Digital Decade targets for 2030. A recent report on the state of progress towards these targets highlighted the need for significant work at all levels

The cybersecurity funding calls are open until 21 January 2025. The digital skills related funding calls are open until 21 November 2024. More information can be found on the website of the European Commission
