The European Commission has unveiled a new Action Plan on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, aimed at addressing the growing cybersecurity risks associated with advanced AI models while also leveraging their potential to strengthen digital security.
According to the Commission, increasingly powerful AI systems can be misused to identify vulnerabilities, automate cyberattacks, and increase the speed and scale of cyber incidents. The new Action Plan will bring together EU Member States, industry stakeholders, and European organisations to coordinate a structured response and enhance the resilience of Europe’s digital landscape.
The initiative forms part of the EU’s broader efforts to strengthen digital security and ensure that artificial intelligence is developed and deployed safely across Europe.
