The European Commission has amended the Digital Europe Work Programme 2025–2027 to align funding with its latest tech priorities. The update redirects investments toward flagship initiatives such as the new AI Gigafactories, central to the EU’s AI Continent Action Plan, and increases support for EU Digital Identity Wallets, mobile driving licences, and the Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs.
Additional measures include backing the European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance, funding the Pan-European Investment Platform for Affordable Housing, and aligning with the upcoming Democracy Shield Initiative through new support for European Digital Media Observatory hubs to combat disinformation.
