You are invited to join the next CONNECT University session on the “Digital Decade Report 2024: Setting the Scene for the New EU Digital Policy Agenda.” The live event will take place on 3 October, from 10:30 to 12:00. It is organised by the European Commission.

This session will explore the progress made toward the EU’s Digital Decade vision for 2030, in line with President Von der Leyen’s priorities for 2024-2029. The discussion will highlight how the State of the Digital Decade 2024 Report aligns with insights from the Draghi and Letta Reports.

‘Chat Control’ Regulation: Status Update

Just before its summer recess, the European Parliament has approved a renewed temporary derogation from the ePrivacy Regulation, extending the framework commonly known as "Chat Control 1.0". Although more MEPs voted against the proposal than in favour, opponents failed to reach the absolute majority required to reject the Council's position under the second reading procedure. An amendment adopted during the vote ensures that encrypted communications remain excluded from the measure. Read More
