Combining the work of several stakeholders, including the CEPIS member Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA), Latvia has officially launched a Latvian-language version of DigComp 3.0, the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens, making the latest digital skills resources more accessible to individuals, educators, employers and public institutions. The framework defines the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to participate effectively in work, learning, and everyday life in an increasingly digital society.
Latvia is also preparing legislative changes to support a transition from DigComp 2.2 to DigComp 3.0 by April 2027.
DigComp 3.0 is an important reference framework for EU digital skills policies and supports initiatives such as the Digital Education Action Plan, the Union of Skills strategy and the Digital Decade Policy Programme. By helping policymakers, educators and employers design training, assessment and upskilling pathways, the framework contributes to strengthening digital competences across Europe, from basic to advanced levels.
