CEPIS is delighted to welcome Marina Cabrini from AICA, Italy, to its Board of Directors. She was elected at the CEPIS Council meeting which was held on 23 November 2023 in Brussels. CEPIS is also glad to announce that Ronald Bieber from OCG, Austria, was re-elected for his second term on the CEPIS Board. Ronald will continue to fulfil his leading role in developing IT Professionalism Europe, as well as looking after CEPIS finance.
Marina graduated in Computer Science in Milan in 1991, and has been working as a computer consultant for about 30 years. Her involvement with AICA started in 1999, when she was asked to work on the localisation of the then ECDL syllabi and tests. Since then, she has been involved in the development of many EDCL/ICDL and informatics certifications, both in Italy and internationally, while remaining a member of many expert workgroups.
Marina is also a long-standing member of the CEPIS Women in ICT expert group, and one of the creators of the DiversIT Charter, the CEPIS flagship initiative to promote gender equality in tech.
Marina said, “For all my life I have always strongly believed that women can do everything that their male counterparts do, and I strongly feel that especially in ICT taskforces women would be a real enrichment, since they can bring their vision and their point of view, that in many cases complement their male colleagues. I am convinced that CEPIS can really become the European landmark for the evaluation of gender policies in ICT through the DiversIT Charter.”
