The European Software Skills Alliance (ESSA) has published 9 new education profiles to cover 5 software roles at different qualification levels — ranging from Vocational Education and Training (VET) to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

The profiles aim to match employers’ skills needs with educational programmes and integrate the competencies, skills, and knowledge required to succeed in a software professional role into a full set of measurable learning outcomes.
ESSA was launched in 2021 to address the need for professional demand for software services. ESSA receives funding from the Erasmus+ programme and involves 26 partners from industry and academia.
