TrainDL WebTalk “Policy Experimentation – Innovation in and for Digital Education”
Digitization is changing our societies and individual lives by the minute. Educational systems in Europe adapt in various ways and political decision-makers often need to rely on goodwill when adopting new measures for digital education. This upcoming TrainDL WebTalk will explore if and how “policy experimentation” can be an effective approach for better educational policies.
CCS hosts first RE-EDUCO in-person project meeting
RE-EDUCO project partners from Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Greece and Finland met in person for the first time at the 4th Translational meeting of the project, held in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted by Cyprus Computer Society. The meeting was held on 7 and 8 November 2022.

Cedefop releases country reports on VET teacher training
The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Education and Training (Cedefop) has recently produced a series of country reports (EU countries, Norway and Iceland). The reports showcase the importance of high-quality, up-to-date and continuous professional development of teachers and trainers in the VET sector.
IAT holds conference on Education in the Light of IT
The Informatics Association of Turkey (IAT) organised the “Education in the Light of Information Technologies Conference and Exhibition, BTIE’22” on June 20-21, 2022 in Ankara, Turkey. The main aim of the conference was to train qualified human resources and to discover how the latest developments in ICT can relate to education and thus increase youth employment by equipping young people with relevant digital skills.
CIS SIN holds mini conference on informatics teacher education
The Computing in Schools (CIS) SIN and the Slovak Society for Computer Science (SSCS) held the event ‘Strategies for Informatics Teachers Education’ on 21 June in Bratislava. It was organised by CEPIS and SSCS in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava.

The ‘Informatics for All’ coalition has released the ‘Informatics Reference Framework for Schools’. This new report describes and promotes informatics as a fundamental discipline for the 21st century, also linking it with innovation and renewal of other key disciplines.

EU Code Week breaks record of activities in 2021
Last month, the results of the most recent EU Code Week were announced. They show that in 2021, EU Code Week set a record with more than 78,000 activities organised worldwide.
