NJSzT Leads Digital Awareness Training for Educators

A diverse group of teachers, school social workers, after-school programme mentors, school psychologists, career counselors, and IT instructors for the visually impaired recently participated in the three-day “Together for Digitally Aware Youth” train-the-trainer programme. The programme was organised by United Way Hungary.

The training was based on a curriculum developed by a team of experts, consisting of five modules. Three of these—focused on internet safety and artificial intelligence—were developed and presented by the John von Neumann Computer Society under the leadership of Katalin Malmos, deputy director of the Society. As part of the pilot programme, they introduced both the theoretical content and potential methodological approaches, including cooperative learning techniques. The training programme has proven highly successful so far: participants gained not only up-to-date knowledge but also methodological ideas and practical tools to support them in teaching and addressing the topic of digital awareness.

Following the training, an e-learning module will also be developed to serve as a useful resource for future sessions. This programme represents another step forward in John von Neumann Computer Society’s efforts to promote digital competency development and to disseminate professional IT knowledge throughout society. It was implemented as part of the collaboration between our Society and United Way Hungary, ongoing since 2022.
