ITPE webinar on IT professional ethics to be held 15 February
The next ITPE webinar ‘Responsibility in tech – ethical challenges for IT professionals’ will take place on 15 February at 10:00 CET. We will discuss the responsibility of IT professionals when developing new technologies that may have legal/ethical implications related to e.g., data usage or biased algorithms.
IFIP, ITPE and CEN TC 428 host joint-event on IT professionalism
On 9 November, ITPE, IFIP-IP3 and CEN TC 428 celebrated the 60th anniversary of IFIP with an online conference on IT Professionalism, entitled ‘Never waste a good crisis: develop a trustworthy digital ecosystem’.
ITPE holds webinar on professionalism in cybersecurity
On 17 November, ITPE held a webinar on professionalism in cybersecurity, entitled ‘Professionalism in cybersecurity – current practice and outlook’. It focused on current best practice, as well as the plans to standardise the different approaches across Europe.

ITPE will hold a webinar on ‘Professionalism in cybersecurity – current practice & outlook’ on 17 November, 10:00-12:00 CET. Carlos Esteban Budde, Assistant Professor at University of Trento and Leader for Cybersecurity Skills and Capability Building with Security Coordinator at Handelsbanken, Vili Harju will discuss the status of cybersecurity in businesses and what initiatives are being developed on a European level to promote best practice.

On 9 November 2021 ITPE, IFIP-IP3 and CEN TC 428 will celebrate the 60th anniversary of IFIP with an online conference on IT Professionalism, entitled “Never waste a good crisis: develop a trustworthy digital ecosystem”.
ITPE & ICS release a policy paper on IT professionalism
ITPE and the Irish Computer Society (ICS) have co-authored a policy paper entitled ‘IT Professionalism – Build the best workforce to deliver Europe’s transition’. It explains the key terminology around IT professionalism, outlines the importance of developing professional practices and professional standards by the IT workforce and calls different stakeholders to engage in these activities.

On 20 May ITPE and CEN/TC428 co-hosted the event ‘Fostering the competent, trusted and recognised IT profession in Europe – how standards can make it happen,’ which focused on the building blocks of IT professionalism, and how they should be implemented in practice.

You can now register to the IT Professionalism Conference 2021 hosted by IT Professionalism Europe (ITPE), eSkills Malta Foundation and the Irish Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition. The event will take place over three half-day online sessions on 20-22 April.
