Talent-related issues still the biggest challenge for digital transformation

According to a McKinsey survey report, talent-related issues are the biggest challenge for companies’ digital transformation. 42% of companies have reported they cannot advance their digital transformation due to difficulty in finding employees with the relevant skills. 54% of respondents say that skills gaps and/or cultural gaps have risen during the change of way of work; and 37% find it difficult to find the correct talent, especially ICT professionals.

The survey results emphasise that changes to companies’ talent strategies are among the most valuable moves to improve performance through digital transformation. The companies that have transformed their approaches to technology talent – changing practices to attract, retain, and upskill ICT and engineering professionals —report the best results on all measures of business impact (revenue streams, cost reduction, improving employee experience).
