CCII supports gender-inclusive AI at “The Future of AI Is Also Written by Women”

The Consejo General de Ingeniería Informática (CCII), one of the CEPIS member societies in Spain, recently took part in the event “El futuro de la IA también lo escriben ellas” (“The Future of AI Is Also Written by Women”), an initiative promoted by Deloitte, Fundación Princesa de Girona, CODE AI and ISEM.

Fernando Suárez, President of CCII, participated in the panel discussion “El compromiso empresarial con el talento sin género” (“Corporate Commitment to Gender-Neutral Talent”), alongside Jaume Miquel, CEO of Tendam; Isabel Salazar, Managing Director of Fundación Telefónica; and Mónica Riberas, Managing Director of Fundación Gestamp. The discussion was moderated by journalist Joana Bonet.

Addressing an audience of more than one hundred girls and teenagers interested in computing, Fernando Suárez stressed the need to challenge the stereotypes that still discourage many young women from considering technological careers. He highlighted that computing is a deeply social profession, with the capacity to improve people’s lives across fields such as healthcare, education, justice and public administration.

CCII also underlined the importance of making visible accessible female role models in technology and AI, so that younger generations can recognise these careers as close, diverse and achievable.
