CEPIS Appointed to Commission Expert Group on High-Quality Informatics

As part of the continuous work of CEPIS to build closer ties with the European institutions, CEPIS has been recently appointed by the European Commission to be a member in the new informal Commission expert group for the development of guidelines on high-quality informatics.

The group has been formed by the Directorate-General of Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC). Its main tasks will be to assist the Commission in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives, such as articulating a coherent understanding of high-quality informatics education amongst both learners and teachers; identifying and addressing common challenges of education systems regarding delivering education in informatics and supporting teachers and educators with pedagogical expertise in the informatics field.

Gerald Futschek, the Chair of the CEPIS Informatics Education expert group, will represent CEPIS at this Commission expert group.
