The report ‘Advanced Technologies for Industry – general findings’ has been published as commissioned by the European Commission. It reveals that advanced manufacturing technologies are one of the technologies where the EU27 are strong while cybersecurity is a technology where the region falls behind.
The analysis also shows that European industry employs fewer IT professionals in security, big data and cloud technologies than the US. However, AI is a field where the EU27 is close to the US in the share of employed professionals across several industries. In blockchain the EU27 and US performance is similar, although the EU27 has a slight advantage.
