EU institutions agree on governance framework for the digital transition

The Council of the EU, the European Parliament and the European Commission reached a political deal on the ‘Path to the Digital Decade’ on 14 July.  

The deal means that Member States together with the European Commission will develop plans on how to achieve their respective digital benchmarks, to be reviewed in 2026. The EU countries will also create strategic roadmaps on reaching the targets, specifying planned regulatory measures and targeted investments.
