During 2020–2021, Finland will provide European citizens with free access to an online course on the ‘Elements of AI’, and made available in all the official EU languages. The series of free online courses are realised by the University of Helsinki and the Finnish tech company Reaktor and are designed to encourage all Europeans to learn the basics of artificial intelligence.
The initiative was launched in the context of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and was made public in Brussels on 10 December 2019, in the margins of the meeting of the EU employment ministers.
