The G20 countries have issued a Ministerial Declaration on digitalisation of education, which emphasises the importance of promoting human-centred technological development and addressing the digital divide in research and higher education as well as mitigating the security risks in digital environments.
The Annex of the Declaration provides a non-exhaustive list of non-binding recommendations to address the issues mentioned in the Declaration. Examples include promoting initiatives that strengthen digital ethics, working together to develop an infrastructure for verifiable digital credentials, the importance of certifications and standards, and sharing experiences with the competence frameworks, among others.
