Have your say: Help shape EU guidelines on AI transparency

The European Commission is inviting stakeholders and citizens to contribute to the development of guidelines and a Code of Practice on AI transparency. These will support providers and deployers of generative AI systems in detecting and labelling AI-generated or manipulated content, ensuring that people are always informed when interacting with artificial intelligence.

The consultation is open to providers and deployers of interactive and generative AI models and systems, as well as biometric categorisation and emotion recognition systems. Public and private sector organisations, academic and research experts, civil society representatives, supervisory authorities, and individual citizens are also encouraged to share their views.

Contributions are welcomed until 2 October 2025. In addition, a call for expressions of interest is open until the same date for stakeholders who wish to actively participate in drafting the Code of Practice.

The initiative builds on the Artificial Intelligence Act, which entered into force on 1 August 2024. Its transparency obligations will apply across the EU from 2 August 2026, fostering responsible and trustworthy AI development and deployment.
