Throughout June and July, the Informatics Association of Turkiye (IAT) co-oraganised and participated in various events on crucial aspects of the digital society.
Expert Talk Events held in Ankara, Kayseri, and Samsun in June focused on Digital Literacy of Young People: The Role of Parents, Institutions, and Platforms & the Importance of Digital Resilience. It was organized in collaboration with Meta and the Turkish Informatics Association. The stakeholders committed to continuing their efforts to contribute to the development of safer, more informed, and more resilient young people in the digital world. The Expert Talk events are planned to be replicated in other cities around Turkiye.
The Artificial Intelligence Workshop, which addressed current global and Turkiye-focused developments in the field of artificial intelligence and comprehensively evaluated their impact on the present and future of law enforcement management, was successfully held at the Gendarmerie General Command Headquarters in Beştepe with the contributions of the Turkish Informatics Association. In this meeting, where they examined the role of artificial intelligence in the future of public security from a multi-dimensional perspective, valuable insights were shared on data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and ethical frameworks. The Turkish Informatics Association continues to work with the Turkish public institutions to strengthen information sharing and increase strategic collaborations in the country’s digital transformation journey.
The Turkish Informatics Association participated in the meeting of the Turkish Grand National Assembly‘s Research Commission on School Incidents and Reducing Children’s Digital Risks, held on July 1st. At the meeting, IAT President Mr. Kenan Nurhan Altınsaat represented the association, while Prof. Dr. Meltem Eryılmaz, also member of the CEPIS Board of Directors, delivered a comprehensive presentation to the commission on behalf of the IAT. During the presentation, the association’s findings, opinions, and concrete solution proposals aimed at protecting children from the risks of the digital world were shared with the commission members. The Turkish Informatics Association continues to work towards building a safer and healthier digital ecosystem for children and to guide the country’s digitalization process.
