Registration to the Informatics Education Conference still open

There are only a few days left to register for the first pan-European Informatics Conference “The future of European Informatics Education – How to counter the skills shortage without compromising on quality?”, organised together by CEPIS, Informatics Europe, EQANIE and ASIIN and taking place in Valencia on 14-15 December 2023.

Register now and look forward to exciting presentations from high-ranking representatives of the informatics community. The CEPIS President Luis Fernandez-Sanz will be giving a talk on skills frameworks and labour market analysis to align talent in industry and higher education across the EU, and Raquel Lacuesta Gilaberte, Member of the Women in ICT expert group, will speak about increasing the number of IT professionals and how to attract more female students to computer science degrees.

It is the first time in many years that all major European stakeholders from the Informatics Community are brought together, representing European informatics societies, companies, as well as academia. Among the many themes to be addressed are the pressing need for more ICT professionals, how to best adapt to rapidly changing educational skill sets, the current political initiatives to establish a European Skills Council for informatics education, among others. Leading representatives of the Seoul Accord will also join the event to provide an input from what is discussed beyond the European borders.
