The second edition of the International Conference on Digital Skills and IT Professionalism (ICODSIP) will be held on 6–7 November 2025, hosted by the Escuela Politécnica Superior of the University of Alcalá (UAH) in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.
This growing international forum is co-organised by CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies) and ATI (Asociación de Técnicos en Informática), a CEPIS Member Society. It also benefits from the collaboration of several CEPIS Member Societies at national and European levels: Consejo General de Colegios Profesionales de Ingeniería Informática (CCII, Spain), Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI, Germany), and Slovensko Društvo Informatika (SSI, Slovenia).
Call for Papers Now Open
Submissions Open: 1 June 2025
Registration Opens: 16 June 2025
Submission Deadline: 27 July 2025
ICODSIP 2025 invites researchers, educators, professionals, and project consortia to submit original contributions for presentation in two main tracks:
Track 1: E-competences and IT Professionalism
This track aims to explore frameworks, practices, and innovations surrounding IT professionalism, particularly the classification, development, and assessment of e-competences in the workforce. Given the continuing shortage of qualified IT professionals and the critical need for structured, evidence-based approaches to talent development, this track offers a timely space for dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers.
Topics include:
- Skills and competence frameworks (e.g., EN16234, ESCO)
- Qualification, certification, and assessment practices
- Career development and employability links to education
- Gender diversity in IT professions
- Demand and supply analysis of IT roles
- Organisational implementation of frameworks
Track 2: Digital Competence and Skills
As digital transformation reshapes all aspects of society, this track focuses on the digital competence of the broader workforce, educators, and citizens. It explores the intersection of digital skills with inclusion, productivity, and social wellbeing, and seeks empirical studies and technical approaches to assessing and developing these competences.
Topics include:
- Frameworks like DigComp and digital skills certifications (e.g., ICDL)
- Practical learning experiences and empirical assessments
- Skills analysis for hybrid and non-IT roles
- Integration into education, workforce training, and social programs
- Self-assessment vs actual proficiency studies
- Impact of AI, misinformation, and emerging tech on digital training
Special Project Presentation Section
ICODSIP 2025 will also include a dedicated section for European and international projects related to either of the conference’s two main tracks. Accepted projects will present key results and practices, helping foster broader dissemination and cross-border exchange.
Presentation Format:
- 15-minute talk + 5 minutes Q&A
- Submission of a short paper (max. 3 pages + references)
- Papers and presentation slides will be published in the conference proceedings
This section is primarily aimed at EU-funded projects, but relevant national and international initiatives are also welcome.

A Timely Forum for a Critical Challenge
The evolving digital landscape demands more structured, data-driven approaches to workforce development, particularly in IT and related areas. ICODSIP aims to address this urgent need by creating a scientific and professional platform for sharing best practices, empirical studies, and policy insights.
More information about submission templates, program updates, and registration will be available soon on the official conference website.
