The “SMACITE – Boosting the technical and non-technical skills and competences of Smart City technicians and engineers” project, of which CEPIS is an associated partner, has opened the application process for the pilot of their Smart Cities Training course. The training will consist of 2 parts and begin in February 2024.
Inf4All Welcomes European Recommendation on Informatics Education at School
On 23 November 2023, the Council of the European Union has adopted a set of recommendations on digital skills and education. The Informatics for All Coalition, a consortium formed to promote informatics education across Europe, of which CEPIS is a founding member, has endorsed the bold recommendations outlined in the new Council report.

CEPIS to take part in IT Education 2023 conference in Türkiye
The CEPIS Informatics Education (IE) expert group will hold a mini-conference within this year’s edition of The Education in the Light of Information Technologies Conference and Exhibition (BTIE’23). Organised by the Informatics Association of Türkiye (IAT), it will be held In Ankara on 6 and 7 October 2023. IAT is a member of both CEPIS and the IE expert group.
IAT Announces New Programme to Train Turkish IT Professionals for AI Future
A new certified training programme aimed at training IT professionals will be launched by IAT, the Turkish Informatics Association, in October 2023. BYTE Challenge Empowers Students with Digital Education in Schools
Schools, students, and teachers are now able to access BYTE Challenge, a free online learning platform from the German Informatics Society (GI). The platform features interactive multimedia courses for digital skills, computer science, and STEM.

“Teaching informatics for all teachers”mini-conference held in Italy
The CEPIS Informatics Education (IE) expert group held a mini-conference on teaching informatics to teachers on 11 November 2022 in Milan, Italy. The mini-conference was organised within the scope of the two-day Didamatica 2022 conference, which was organised by the Italian ICT Association (AICA).
CCS hosts first RE-EDUCO in-person project meeting
RE-EDUCO project partners from Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Greece and Finland met in person for the first time at the 4th Translational meeting of the project, held in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted by Cyprus Computer Society. The meeting was held on 7 and 8 November 2022.
